A team of police officers from Pattaya Police Station and the Tourist Police got together with 50 police officers from the Narcotics Suppression Department to take part in a raid operation on a South Pattaya Bar. The bar in question – the Bamboo Bar on Walking Street – was entered at 2am and over 200 customers and employees were requested to cooperate as they were about to run obligatory urine tests on everyone. Further, the bar manager provided an out of date operation license which expired in January 2011. Both he and people proved drug positive were taken back to the police station to face prosecution.
